Baptisms & Christenings
Giving thanks for new life and welcoming people into the life of the Church.
Baptism marks the beginning of a person’s journey in the Christian faith. It is a joyful occasion where we give thanks for God’s love and welcome people into the life of the Church.
We warmly welcome baptisms for infants, children, and adults.
Most baptisms take place on Sundays and include a time to meet with the priest beforehand to talk through the service and answer any questions you may have.
There is no fee for baptism, although donations towards the ministry of the church are always appreciated.
Weddings
A beautiful and historic setting for Christian marriage.
St Augustine’s is a beautiful and historic church in the heart of Hamilton, offering a timeless setting for your wedding day.
A Christian marriage celebrates love, commitment, faithfulness, and God’s blessing on your life together. We would be delighted to help you prepare for this important step.
Our clergy will guide you through the process, including planning the ceremony, legal requirements, music, and rehearsal arrangements.
Whether you are part of our church community or enquiring for the first time, we welcome your enquiry.
Weddings may consider hire of our lawns and hall for a memorable marquee event.
Funerals
Services of hope, remembrance, and thanksgiving.
We understand that arranging a funeral can be a difficult and emotional time.
At St Augustine’s, we offer compassionate support and Anglican funeral services that honour the life of your loved one with dignity, prayer, and hope.
Our clergy are available to assist families in planning funeral and memorial services, including music, readings, and pastoral care.
Whether your loved one was a regular church member or not, you are welcome to speak with us.
Columbarium & Memorial Rose Garden
Beneath the church is the Chapel of All Souls and Columbarium — a peaceful place for remembrance and prayer.
Our memorial garden and columbarium are available for the interment of ashes, and monthly memorial prayers are offered for those remembered here.
Pastoral Care

There are times in life when people simply need someone to talk with, pray with, or walk alongside them.
Our clergy are available for pastoral conversations, prayer, home or hospital visits, and spiritual support.
