St Augustine’s has been part of the Hamilton and Ascot community for more than a century. We are an Anglican parish shaped by worship, prayer, fellowship, and service.

THE RECTOR
Reverend Canon David Ruthven
David Ruthven is the Rector of St Augustine’s Anglican Church, Hamilton. He is passionate about helping people grow in faith through thoughtful teaching, meaningful worship, and genuine community.
David loves seeing the church become a place where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported in every season of life. Together with his wife Sharon and their four children, he is grateful to be part of the Hamilton community and the life of St Augustine’s.
A Memorial Church

St Augustine’s was built as a memorial church following the First World War and continues to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian men and women across generations.
Our church is known for its beautiful stained glass windows, peaceful grounds, and historic Columbarium Chapel — a place of remembrance, prayer, and reflection in the heart of Hamilton.

The church and grounds are open daily for visitors and quiet reflection.
If you are visiting for the first time, simply come as you are. You do not need to be Anglican or familiar with church services to join us. After the service, we invite you to stay for a chat and refreshments.
Parking is available onsite via Racecourse Road and Charlton Street.
