Upper Entry & Wheelchair Access: 9 Charlton Street.

Monday to Friday 9:00am – 12:00pm

Some people park in Charlton Street on the upper side of the church or a side street. You may drive right up to the front door to drop off those with mobility issues.

If you wish to park on the lower side of the church grounds, drive along Racecourse Road, then turn into the grounds. Leave the Rectory Driveway clear and use single depth parking. Please do not spin wheels on any lawn sections but drive gently, and take care of any adjacent flowers and plants. Avoid grassy areas if water-soaked. If you attend the grounds at other times, follow any instructions from the gardeners if present, who may restrict parts of the grounds they are working on. Please be extra aware of any people around you and other cars when exiting back across the footpath.

If there is no room in the grounds, you may park on Racecourse Road, observing any signed areas from the city council. Alternatively, you can try various nearby side streets. Wherever you park, it is not far to walk to church.

As a community, we give from our income, from our resources and of our time.

  • Each week, a collection for the ‘Parish Pantry’ is made, which brings in a selection of non-perishable goods. These are taken down to our neighbours at Holy Trinity Fortitude Valley, for the stocking of their Pantry which assists those in need.

  • Each month, after our Jumble Sale, significant contributions are made to local charities that work with people experiencing homelessness and those escaping domestic violence as well as to other local Op Shops.

  • Each year a portion of our income is directed to charitable causes – we aim for a spread between local and global projects.

We are accepting donations. The Jumble Sale is an important part of our fund raising and charity work. Volunteers are needed to help sort and sell Jumble items – Sunday & Monday prior to the Jumble Sale Day. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our office.

There’s something for everyone at the St Augustine’s Jumble Sale – every 1st Wednesday of the month (except January or as required). Come along and find a bargain. Household goods, except furniture, electrical goods or torn clothes, can be dropped off at the Parish Hall for the Jumble Sale. There are always surprises in stall. Jumble has been going since 1966.

Hall & Lawn Hires

Please contact our Office to discuss your ideas or requirements for hiring the hall and/or the lawns. People usually access the hall if hiring the lawns. Hire may be for non-commercial events, charity sales, classes, or for use after a ceremony such as a wedding or baptism. Please consider taking advantage of the beautiful setting.

The hall and lawns are an ideal location for community group events, musicians, fitness classes, fund raising gatherings, educational groups and private functions. (The raised hall stage is unavailable as we use this space for Jumble Sale storage.)
